We made it across the country without any serious incident. As Terese has been explaining, it has been an eye-opening experience in many ways. One of those ways: driving for a solid 5-9 hours a day is surprisingly exhausting. I feel for the truckers on the road for extended hauls. That would be a tough life, I think.
One of the side effects of those long driving days with me doing most of the driving is that I have fallen down on the photography job. Some great shots whiz by at 65 miles per hour but there is no safe way to capture those on camera. Then, at the end of the day, when the driving is finished my energy reserves are also running low so I haven't even been taking pictures of the campgrounds where we have stayed. Hopefully, on the way back with a little more time for a more relaxed pace, I will be able to get some shots of the beautiful places we are seeing. Meanwhile, here are just a few of the photos we have managed (some on Terese's phone and a few on mine) over the last few days.
You‘ve reached the prize at the bottom of the Cracker Jack box! Enjoy fully. Kathyd
Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. The bridges are stunning. This adventure seems exhausting. Wishing you all some rest.
